New water softener and reverse osmosis system
Chlorine does a great job killing any bacteria that may be present in a water supply, but it tastes terrible and many health studies have been done looking at long-term consumption of the chemical. Instead of buying bottled water and lugging the heavy jugs home, this couple decided to have an in-home drinking system installed. There is always lots of purified water available for drinking and cooking. The sediment filter, carbon filters and thin-film membrane clean the water right down to the microscopic level removing 99% of all contaminants.
All that is required for maintenance is an annual service. This includes; a water test, changing of all the filter cartridges, flushing the system out and checking the pressure in the holding tank. As well, the water conditioner is tested and inspected to ensure it is operating at peak efficiency.
The water softener has a 760 Logix timer that completely monitors the household water usage. It automatically adjusts its regeneration cycle to use as little salt as needed.
If the home owners go away for an extended period of time, it will not clean itself. If they have a lot of family over for the holidays and an above average amount of water is used, it will go through extra cleaning cycles to keep up.
